Vista West Continuation High School is still known as a California Model Continuation High School. This is a prestigious four-year award that honors the school's creative ways of helping students get back on track and earn credits. The district's Energy Conservation Initiative has brought modern, energy-efficient lighting and environmentally friendly building upgrades to the entire school site, which is good for the campus. Also, this spring, students are taking part in more Career Technical Education (CTE) workshops, which give them hands-on training for jobs and direct paths to getting local industry certifications.
