About Peoria Flex Academy

Peoria Flex Academy is a public alternative high school in Peoria, Arizona, run by the Peoria Unified School District. The school is for students in grades 9–12 who need a learning environment that is very personalized and flexible. This includes students who are trying to get their credits back or find a different way to graduate. There aren't many students, and the school says that the ratio of students to teachers is about 4:1. Peoria Flex Academy helps students graduate on their own time by giving them individualized learning plans, mixed and online classes, flexible schedules, and one-on-one help from teachers. The students come from a variety of backgrounds and have academic or personal issues that make it hard for them to do well in a regular school setting. About 5% of students are good at reading (ELA) and only about 5% are good at math. Public schools get their money from the state and district education funds. Students may take state-required tests and college-readiness tests like the SAT, depending on what they want to do.
