Greenwood Elementary PTA is sponsoring the Move-A-Thon, which is the school's fall fundraiser to promote fitness and involve the families in school. At the same time, Seattle Public Schools is eliminating the Highly Capable Cohort (HCC) program in favor of an enrichment-for-all model in hopes of providing equitable opportunities for learning for every child by 2027-28.In the wake of community concerns related to traffic safety, the Seattle Department of Transportation installed speed cushions and speed humps close to Greenwood Elementary for the purpose of reducing traffic speeds to improve safety for people walking and for students.
