Alanton Elementary School has firmly established itself as one of the top Elementary Schools in Virginia, gaining regional praise for its academic achievement and school spirit. With an enrollment of over 600 students in grades PreK-5, Alanton consistently measures above state averages in math and reading, with over 80% of students attaining proficiency. Alanton strives to provide a student-teacher ratio around 14:1, which increases personal attention for every child, as well promotes working together and a sense of belonging. The population at Alanton is also diverse in that nearly half of the student population self-identifies as a minority youth.
