Crosswind Elementary recently opened a new wing that is 17,000 square feet. Teachers toured the space in May 2025 and said it was "like Christmas." The expansion will help with more students enrolling and the upcoming rezoning for the 2025–26 school year. The school got a National Blue Ribbon award in 2023, became an Apple Distinguished School from 2024 to 2027, and got a "A" from the Tennessee Department of Education in 2024 for its academic excellence and creativity.
