Camelot Intermediate in Brookings, South Dakota, is happy to say that their new "Future Innovators" program has worked well. This program gets kids excited and helps them be more creative by having them do hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects. The program has weekly workshops where professionals and experts in the field teach students about robotics, coding, and environmental science. They also learn how to analyze things and come up with solutions. The students are already very excited about the program and can't wait to work on real projects that will make them want to learn more.
Q1. What grades does Camelot Intermediate take care of?
Ans. The school is mostly for kids in upper elementary school who are getting ready for middle school.
Q2. Do students have the chance to be leaders at the school?
Ans.Yes, students can join leadership and service groups that are appropriate for their age.
Q3. How do families find out what's going on?
Ans. Teachers send out apps, emails, and newsletters to let people know what's going on.
Q4. Are there things you can do that will help you learn more?
Ans. Yes, there are a lot of programs for both academics and creativity.
Q5. What kind of help do new students get?
Ans. Staff shows them around and helps them get used to things a little at a time.
