Latest News

In early August 2025 the school year kicked off for the Moore Public Schools district, and Briarwood Elementary gained attention as students, parents and educators navigated both excitement and change. On August 12, cameras from a local news station were at Briarwood as younger kids said goodbye to their families, took pictures on the first day, and walked in ready for class. One student shared she was “excited to learn American history,” while another looked forward to making new friends. At the same time, parents were notified of two notable shifts for the 2025-26 year: first, the school-zone flashing lights around Briarwood will now remain active all day, a change from previous years. Second, a new law in Oklahoma says that students can't have cell phones from the first bell to the last bell, unless it's for medical or emergency reasons. These updates underscore the school’s ongoing focus on student safety, routine stability and academic engagement—all as Briarwood Elementary begins the new year with refreshed structure and community energy.
