Sandra Lee Thompson Elementary School’s Best Buddies program was honored as a nominee for Outstanding Elementary School at last year’s Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Bloomington, Indiana. This recognition highlighted the school’s commitment to inclusion, friendship, and leadership among students.

Ans. The school implements the motto “Service, Challenge, Excellence” and the Trojan character, which are always present to students, so that the three things—helping others, daring to face challenges, and doing their best work—are a natural part of school life.

Ans. Among the events conducted by Thompson are testing pep rallies, Fun Run, Nevada Reading Week events, field day, family game nights, and a fall festival, which provide both families and students with endless opportunities to connect and celebrate together.

Ans. An art specialist is available for students all year long, and the school collaborates with the PTA in such programs as art reflections, so children can produce and exhibit their art pieces to the school community.
