E.P. Pearce Elementary School is in Greensboro at 2006 Pleasant Ridge Road. It is part of the Guilford County Schools district and serves students in grades K–5. The school says that the student-to-teacher ratio is about 15 to 1, which allows for fairly good individual attention.About 85% of students passed the most recent state math tests that were made public. This is much higher than the North Carolina average of about 51%. About 77% of students were at grade level in reading and language arts. When Pearce students move up to middle and high school, they usually go to schools that produce graduates who work in STEM fields or as leaders.
However, there is no public list of specific notable alumni. Greensboro Academy, a nearby charter school, reports that about 88% of its students are good at maths.Families looking for a place to live in the area can expect to pay between $1,500 and $2,300 a month for three-bedroom rentals, depending on where they are and how well they are kept up. Families in the Greensboro area who want their kids to do well in school should consider E.P. Pearce. It has a high proficiency rate, a good class size, and is located in a city that is friendly to families.

Being Updated
In spring 2025, E.P. Pearce Elementary launched a “Whole-Child STEAM Initiative” where grades 3-5 engaged in weekly design-thinking workshops, robotics prototyping and family advisory nights aimed at deepening student engagement and applied math skills.
1. What enrichment programs are available beyond core academics?
A. Pearce offers clubs in robotics, “Challenge Time” for hands-on math applications, and arts-integration projects to enhance creativity and problem-solving.
2. How does Pearce support students who need extra help in math or reading?
A. The school uses quarterly benchmark assessments, then schedules small-group intervention blocks and tracks progress via parent-teacher conferences.
3. How can parents stay involved and monitor student progress?
A. Families are invited to monthly “Family Learning Nights,” have access to an online parent portal for assignment and grade monitoring, and are encouraged to volunteer in classrooms.
4. What is the school’s culture and what should families expect?
A. With high proficiency rates and a low student–teacher ratio, the school encourages leadership, service-learning and peer collaboration, parents should visit and meet the team to gauge fit.
5. What housing and commute factors should families relocating here consider?
A. Rentals for three-bedroom homes in Greensboro fall around US $1,500–2,300/month, though condition and exact neighbourhood matter. Families should also factor in commute to Pleasant Ridge Road and potential costs for after-school enrichment.
