It is a public transition program for students between the ages of 18 and 21 that helps specially abled young adults become independent. The school has about 30 students, which makes it a small, supportive place to learn. The student-to-teacher ratio is very good, which means that each student gets a lot of attention. Functional academics, daily living skills, and vocational training are the main focuses of the curriculum at Rochester Academy-Idp Living(Rail). The school cares a lot about getting students ready for college and a job because they also take the SAT and ACT. Rochester Academy-Idp Living (RAIL) recently held a Unified Sports Day, where students could play basketball and bowl outside. The event was meant to promote teamwork and inclusion. This was the second year in a row that RAIL put on this event, which helped build community and have fun. Students showed off their skills and had fun with their friends, making it a great time.
