Musson Elementary feels like the kind of neighborhood school most parents hope to find. It sits along Brewster Road, framed by tall trees and quiet sidewalks where children walk or ride bikes to class. The moment you walk through its doors, you notice how calm it feels bright halls, walls covered in art projects, and teachers who seem to know every child’s name. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s a school built on care, patience, and real connection. The school serves about 480 students, and the student–teacher ratio stays close to 16:1, giving kids plenty of attention without losing that lively classroom buzz. Across Michigan, the average math proficiency is roughly 35 percent, but Musson’s students regularly score higher, around 60 percent.
Families often compare it with Long Meadow and Delta Kelly Elementary, both respected schools nearby, yet many say Musson has something warmer, a personality that feels personal. Teachers here have been around for years, and it shows in how easily they connect with both students and parents. The neighborhood around Musson reflects the same steady charm. Rochester Hills is quiet, safe, and family-focused, a place where weekends mean local parks, bike trails, and backyard barbecues. A three-bedroom rental home near the school usually falls between $2,000 and $2,300 per month, though many parents choose to buy once they realize they’re not leaving anytime soon. There are no headline-famous alumni, but plenty of former students still live nearby. Some have become teachers, small business owners, or coaches, people who now walk their own kids through Musson’s front doors. It’s that cycle of return, of growing up and coming back, that gives the school its quiet pride.

We are so excited to announce the name of our new playground! Following a school-wide and Robinson community vote we narrowed a large list of names down to four. Since our students will be using the playground on a daily basis, we gave them the final vote! 476.....

Being Updated

Kids built balloon rockets, made simple robots out of recycled materials, and explored science through play. The gym buzzed with parents helping, laughing, and sometimes learning right alongside their children.
