Meigs Academic Magnet Middle School serves 693 students in grades 5-8 in the Metro Nashville School District and employs approximately 34 full-time teachers, resulting in a pupil-teacher ratio of about 20 to 1. Academic achievement is high; around 85% of students are considered proficient in math, and around 87% in reading/language arts, which is noticeably above the state averages. The school's student demographic is roughly 67% White, 16% Black, 8-9% Asian, 7-8% Hispanic/Latino, with a small percentage multiracial. Staff retention is reasonable; several of the teachers have worked there for multiple years, and a notable amount of gifted/magnet programming is present in the school, making it one of the best elementary schools in Tennessee. The median home value in the community surrounding the school is approximately $425,300.
