Central Intermediate School serves students who are right in the middle years, and that shows in how the campus feels. Louisiana’s math proficiency tends to stay in the mid-forties to low-fifties, and Central Intermediate usually falls close to that average. Parents say teachers here are used to helping kids adjust from the more sheltered elementary setting toward more independence. Families sometimes compare it with Shenandoah and Twin Oaks, which may show slightly higher math scores, but Central stands out for giving kids time to adapt. In this broader area, three-bedroom homes often rent in the mid-$1,500 range. For high school, Central High School is the main destination, with alumni who’ve moved into trades, local law enforcement, and regional business roles. Central Intermediate feels like a school that offers a slow, steady step toward the next stage instead of a sudden jump.
