Sowers Alternative High School has started a new Trauma-Informed Care program, which includes building a special "Calm Room" to help students with their mental health and emotional control. The school is also doing well with its individualized credit-recovery pathways, which let students use new interactive software to work toward their diplomas at their own pace. Also, the campus recently set up a mentorship program with local trades that gives students direct access to information about high-demand career fields and apprenticeship opportunities.
