Fred H. Croninger Elementary School is a public K–5 school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It serves families in the northwest part of the city. The school has about 550 to 600 students and a student-teacher ratio of about 17:1. This helps keep the focus on teaching in the elementary grades. Fred H. Croninger Elementary School's main goals are to help students build strong skills in reading, writing, and math, as well as technology-supported learning. They also offer enrichment activities that help students grow academically and socially at the right age. The students come from a wide range of backgrounds, and about 45 to 50 percent of them say they belong to a minority group.
State assessment results show that 81% of students are good at math and 48% are good at English Language Arts, according to U.S. News. The amount of money the district spends on each student is about the same as the average in Indiana. This money goes toward classroom instruction, academic programs, and student services. The school is in a stable suburban area of Fort Wayne, where home prices have been slowly rising.
Overall, Fred H. Croninger Elementary School does well in math, has a lot of community support, and is always working to improve literacy and student growth.

Being Updated
Fred H. Croninger Elementary School in Fort Wayne recently got a lot of attention in the area after winning the annual "School Spirit Contest" run by a local radio station. This showed that the students were very involved and the community was very involved. In addition to the celebration, the school said that this fall it would start a new program to integrate technology into the classroom. This would include giving classrooms new devices and teaching digital skills as part of the curriculum. Teachers say that the first pilot sessions, which were about working on projects together online and using math tools that are interactive, have already gotten students very interested. The school's parent-teacher organization says that the project is being funded by a mix of district support and recent fundraising efforts. The goal is to help students get ready for higher grades. With these changes, the school is once again making progress in combining a focus on academics with modern learning tools and a sense of community.
