Shannon Ranch Elementary is a public elementary school in Visalia, California, a city of medium size. It is part of the Visalia Unified School District. The school has about 648 students and serves kids in kindergarten through sixth grade. Shannon Ranch Elementary has about 25 full-time equivalent teachers, which means that there is one teacher for every 26 students. This is a little higher than the district average. The school uses a standards-based curriculum that is in line with California's academic standards. It focuses on social studies, math, science, and English language arts. Targeted interventions and enrichment programs are used in addition to instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student body. The student body is evenly split between boys and girls, with 47% being girls and 53% being boys. About 48% of the students are from low-income families, which shows that the school is focused on providing equal learning opportunities. U.S. News data shows that about 62% of students are good at math and 64% are good at English language arts. This means that these students are doing better in school than the average student in the state.
