The Visalia Unified School District is home to Annie R. Mitchell Elementary. The district's Blended and Non-Blended Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) Program has won a California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Award for being creative. This program is changing the way students in the district learn in the early years. Ten students from Visalia Unified, including some from Annie R. Mitchell, were also named to the National Educational Equity Lab's 2024–2025 Honor Society. This honors their academic success and potential.
