The best elementary school in the LAUSD right now is Balboa Gifted/High Ability Magnet Elementary. It is also a Blue Ribbon School in the US. The school is doing great; 93% of students are proficient or better in math, and 94% are proficient or better in reading. Recent news has made it clear that the school's goal is to push intellectually gifted students to their limits through a full and high-achieving magnet program.
