Wilder's Preparatory Academy Charter is a public charter school in Inglewood for kids in grades 6–8. There are about 250 to 300 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 20 students. This makes it possible for structured classroom instruction, which is common in many California charter middle schools. The main goal of Wilder's Preparatory Academy Charter is to get students ready for college and work. It teaches core subjects, leadership skills, and character building. The majority of the students are minorities, with a large number being Hispanic and African American. The student body is similar to the demographics of the community around the school. Many students can get lunch for free or for less money. About 52% of students excel in math, and 72% excel in English-language arts, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance academic achievement and support student growth. The amount of money that each student gets is usually the same as what charter schools in the same district get. The school still focuses on structured learning and academic growth in a supportive middle school setting.

The award shows that the school is still focused on closing achievement gaps and improving middle school outcomes in Inglewood.
Q1. How do you get into Wilder's Preparatory Academy Charter?
Ans. During the open enrollment period, families must fill out an application to sign up. California charter law says that if there are more applications than seats, the school usually picks who gets to go by drawing lots from the public.
Q2. Does the school have sports teams for kids in middle school?
Ans. Yes, students can join school-based sports teams or intramural sports, depending on what is offered and what resources are available.
Q3. Do students at Wilder's Preparatory Academy Charter have to wear uniforms?
Ans. There is usually a dress code at school to help students feel like they belong, cut down on distractions, and keep the academic environment focused.
Q4. What can students do to get help when they go from elementary school to middle school?
Schools usually have programs to help sixth graders get used to what to expect in middle school and how to do well in class. These programs include orientation, counseling, and academic advising.
Q5: What does the school do to help kids learn how to handle their emotions and get along with others?
Ans. The school helps students become more polite, responsible, and good leaders by teaching them about character, giving them time to talk to each other, and giving them access to counseling resources.
