Recently, Cesar E. Chavez Elementary in Bakersfield took part in the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day put on by the Bakersfield City School District. This event was meant to promote student safety and community involvement. It was also meant to encourage healthy habits and strengthen the ties between families and the school.
