The Casita Center for Science, Math, and Technology is in a suburban area at 260 Cedar Road. There are 585 students at this magnet school, which serves grades K–5. The student–teacher ratio is 23:1. 71% of students are good at math and 70% are good at reading, which shows that they do well in school. There are 48% female students and 52% male students in the student body. The school is a place where students can learn and grow intellectually, and it encourages everyone to ask questions and find answers. Teachers add specialized lab sessions and inquiry-based modules to the regular weekly schedule. The campus has new computer labs and gardens that are used for hands-on lessons in environmental science. Because of its unique magnet status and academic focus, this school attracts students from all over the city. The administration makes sure that students have access to modern research and technical experimentation tools all day long. The facility is a great example of how to combine science and technology in elementary school. It keeps the campus atmosphere very structured and focused on results. Prices for homes in the area range from $720,000 to $980,000. Parents often praise the school for how involved the students are and how it helps young kids develop a real love for science. It is one of the best elementary schools in California because it has high test scores.
