Walker Elementary in San Diego just got named a California Purple Star Military School! This means they're doing a great job supporting kids from military families. They've got special resources, counseling, and partnerships with the community to help these students do well in school and make friends. There's even a full-time counselor who understands what it's like to move a lot or deal with other challenges that come with military life.

Besides that, Walker Elementary still runs its Leader in Me program. It helps students learn to be leaders, be responsible for their own work, and work together to solve problems. The school also does a lot to involve families, like hosting community events and workshops. These are meant to help students grow both at home and at school.

All of this shows that Walker Elementary is always trying to make sure everyone does well in class, feels good about themselves, and enjoys a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
