About Valencia Park Elementary

Valencia Park Elementary School is a public school in San Diego, California. It serves students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to Grade 5 in the San Diego Unified School District. The school has about 500 to 550 students and a student-teacher ratio of 22:1, which is normal for bigger urban elementary schools in the area. The school also uses social-emotional learning and family engagement programs to make the learning environment more welcoming and supportive. The student body is very diverse, with more than 95% of students being minorities. Most of the students are Hispanic or African American. USA News data shows that only about 22% of students are good at math and 32% are good at reading (ELA). This is below the state average and shows where students need to keep working on their academics. Per-pupil funding is in line with what the district and state give, and it includes extra money to help students from underserved communities. The school is in the Valencia Park neighborhood of southeastern San Diego and is an important part of the community.
