Rowan Elementary is a public school in San Diego, California, that serves students in grades K–5 as part of the San Diego Unified School District. There are about 470 students at the school, and the student-teacher ratio is about 21:1. This makes it possible for teachers to give each student the attention they need. Rowan Elementary has a curriculum that is based on standards and puts a lot of emphasis on reading, writing, math, and social-emotional learning. To help students with different learning needs, the school also has enrichment programs and academic interventions. The student body is culturally diverse, with a large number of minority students. Latest News

Rowan Elementary just started a cool garden project to make science class more hands-on and get the community involved. Kids in different grades are planting veggies, herbs, and local plants as part of a year-long plan. This plan links what they learn in class to real-life stuff about the environment. Teachers say the kids are really into watching plants grow, checking out the weather, and learning how to keep things sustainable.

Also, Rowan Elementary had its first Family Fitness and Health Night, which brought families together to do fun things about healthy eating, exercise, and feeling good. Local health experts and school people led different stations where kids and their families could learn about being healthy through games and talks.

Parents and teachers are happy about the school focusing on both learning and being healthy. They say these programs make the school community stronger and help kids grow in all ways.
