Monterey Ridge Elementary School is a public school in San Diego, California, that serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school is in the Poway Unified School District and has about 650 to 700 students. The campus has about 27 students for every teacher, which is similar to how high-performing suburban schools work. Monterey Ridge Elementary puts a lot of emphasis on basic academics, especially reading, writing, and math, as well as problem-solving skills. Technology integration, project-based learning activities, and enrichment opportunities that get students involved and make them think critically all help with classroom instruction. The school has a lot of different kinds of students, and a lot of them are minorities, which makes for a multicultural learning environment. Based on the academic performance data we have, 82% of students meet or exceed proficiency standards in Math, and 84% of students show proficiency in Reading. This shows that the overall academic outcomes are very good. The amount of money available is in line with the average for public schools in the area.

Being Updated
A Monterey Ridge Elementary teacher just got named one of Poway Unified School District’s “Teachers of the Year!” This shows how good the teachers are at the school and how much they care. It’s a cool award that shows Monterey Ridge Elementary is all about good teaching and helping students grow. The school continues to emphasize student proficiency in academic performance, with recent statewide testing showing that a large majority of students exceed state standards in English language arts and reading, demonstrating consistency in strong outcomes.
Besides this award, Monterey Ridge Elementary is still helping students do well in school. Recent state tests show most kids are doing better than the state standards in English. The school is still a National Blue Ribbon School, which is a big deal. It means they’re doing a great job compared to other schools in California.
All this stuff proves that Monterey Ridge Elementary is known for great teachers, kids who do well, and community support.
