Latest News

The Prunedale Elementary School initiated a Winter Reading Challenge on December 20, 2025; this challenge encouraged the students to read every day over the holiday break by tracking reading minutes and sharing reflections with their teachers when they returned to school after the holiday break. The teachers reported that there was great participation by the students, and many students developed a stronger ability to read for longer periods of time as a result. Families appreciated this opportunity to support continuing the students' educational development while they were on vacation and reinforced the idea that having consistent reading habits was important to developing literacy skills while fostering an environment that encourages family participation in supporting their children’s literary growth.
