See top schools in SalinasNatividad Elementary School is one of the best elemntary school in Salinas, California and home to around 706 kids, from K-6 grade. It’s a place where teachers really get to know their students—class sizes are small, and the student-teacher ratio is 20:1, so there’s space for real attention and lively, organized classrooms. As for academics, students keep up with what the district expects, especially in reading and math with the percentage of 19% and 14% respective. That says a lot about the teachers’ steady work and the school’s commitment to helping every child succeed. There’s a good mix of boys and girls here approximated 46% female students and 54% male students, which makes the campus feel welcoming and balanced. The surrounding neighborhoods are full of families, and housing stays affordable, so parents stay connected and involved at school. People talk about the staff a lot—they’re known for being kind and encouraging, and for sticking with students every step of the way, both in class and out. Teachers here put a lot of focus on positive behavior, respect, and giving kids the confidence they need. Every day, students know they’re safe and supported.

Being Updated
As of January 16, 2026, the Social-Emotional Learning program at Natividad Elementary School was open to students of all grades. Teachers said that this program had a positive effect on the students' behavior and interactions with each other and in the classroom because it taught them about emotional awareness, self-control, and respectful communication. The program also gave families tools to help them learn these skills at home.
