On January 10th, 2026, Laurel Wood Elementary initiated targeted math support in order to improve students’ problem-solving and number sense ability. The teachers implemented a small-group approach for the students who needed assistance using manipulatives. Early data shows that the students engage in learning more and develop more confidence in their abilities. Additionally, the parents learned strategies to help their children develop their math skills at home, The program is consistent with our school’s vision of providing educational excellence for all students.
