Mary Fay Pendleton is still one of the best "Leader in Me" schools. It gives its military-connected students the chance to be leaders in their school community. The school recently celebrated how involved its students are by giving them real-world learning opportunities, like high-profile field trips that connect what they learn in class to their future careers [Search]. It is still known for its strong spirit and high academic standards, which are meant to help military families who move around a lot.
Q1. Does Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary have a calendar that is the same every year or one that changes?
Ans. The school follows the standard district calendar, which means that the school year usually starts in mid-August and ends in early June.
Q2. Does Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary have programs to help new students adjust?
Ans. The school has a program called "Student 2 Student" that pairs up new military-connected kids with older students to help them get used to their new school quickly.
Q3. Is algebra taught to eighth graders at Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary?
Ans. For middle school students who are ready for high school level algebra in their last year, there are advanced math pathways.
Q4. Is there a STEM lab just for science, technology, engineering, and math at Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary?
Ans. There is a special makerspace on campus where students can work on building projects and take on different engineering design challenges.
Q5. Does Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary have a mascot?
Ans. The Bulldog is the school's mascot. It stands for the strength and resilience of the military community that lives on base.
