School leaders and the Juneau School District are working with families to get more kids to come to school by reaching out to them more, getting them involved, and giving them more support to help them learn more consistently.
Q1. Does Glacier Valley School offer programs before and after school?
Ans. Yes, the school usually offers district-approved before- and after-school care programs, but only if there is space and enough students.
Q2. Does the school serve breakfast and lunch to students?
Answer. The school is part of the Juneau School District's nutrition program, which provides daily meals. Families who qualify can get free or reduced-price meals.
Q3. What does the school do to help students who are learning English as a second language?
Ans. Sit Eeti Shaanax – Glacier Valley School has English language learner support services that help students learn the language while still being able to do grade-level work.
Q4. What kinds of transportation do students who go to the school have?
Ans. The district usually provides bus transportation for eligible students based on their attendance boundaries and transportation rules.
