This school year, Salazar Elementary is getting a lot of attention for its renewed focus on improving attendance and early literacy. The school has started focused reading help and family involvement programs to get more students involved and help them do better in school.
Q1. Are there programs for kids to stay before or after school at Salazar Elementary?
Salazar Elementary may offer limited before- or after-school programs through district initiatives or local partners, depending on how many students sign up and how many spots are open.
Q2. What ways does the school talk to parents and guardians?
Ans. The school sends out regular newsletters, phone messages, and parent–teacher conferences to keep families up to date on academics, events, and how their child is doing in school.
Q3. Do students get meals during the school day?
Ans. Yes, Salazar Elementary takes part in federal nutrition programs and gives eligible students breakfast and lunch during the school day.
Q4. What help is there for students who are having trouble with schoolwork?
Ans. The school offers help with small-group instruction, targeted help with reading or math, and working with support staff when needed.
Q5. Does the school want students to come to class and be involved?
Ans. Yes, Salazar Elementary encourages students to come to school every day by reaching out to families, setting school-wide expectations, and offering programs that keep students interested in learning.
