Sherman Elementary School’s PTO meeting will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. Families are invited to attend to participate in school planning and updates.
Q1. How does Sherman take care of morning supervision before classes start?
Ans. Staff monitor specific areas where students congregate to ensure a safe and organized wait for their class turn.
Q2. What do they do with take-home reading materials at Sherman?
Ans. Students borrow books from the classroom library, return them on the days they are supposed to, and get new ones based on their reading level and the teacher's advice.
Q3. What do families need to know about asking teachers to meet with them?
Ans. Parents can schedule meetings via email or the office so teachers can prepare with student info and communicate.
Q4. How does Sherman help people move safely on stairs?
Ans. Students obey the rules that are posted, use the handrails, and are supervised when they move from one class to another to stay safe.
Q5. How does the school plan for vision and hearing tests twice a year?
Ans. Health staff do screenings on a schedule set by the district and let families know when more testing or follow-up is needed.
