Ezra Millard Elementary School was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of seven Nebraska schools to receive the honor. The U.S. Department of Education recognized the school for its strong academic performance.
Q1. How does Ezra Millard help kids learn basic number sense?
Ans. Students do math activities with their hands, counting routines, and visual models that fit with OPS math frameworks.
Q2. How does the school help students listen and follow directions?
Ans. Teachers help students strengthen their receptive language skills by having them repeat things back, giving them visual cues, and giving them practice tasks with more than one step.
Q3. What tools do students use to look at data representation?
Ans. Students make simple bar graphs, tally charts, and picture graphs using data from the classroom as part of OPS math standards.
