Van Buren Elementary is celebrating the successful start of its new "Learning Through Leadership" program, which lets students decide how they want to learn at school. For the past week, student groups have been planning how to greet each other in the morning, what to do during lunch, and reading challenges in the classroom. The "Leadership Kickoff Rally" was the first event of the program, it brought together students and teachers for games that helped them how to work together, speeches that inspired them, and a presentation of ideas that students had come up with.
