The school follows a traditional elementary school curriculum that covers math, reading, writing, and science. Recent test results show that 33% of students did well in math and 29% did well in reading. This tells teachers what students are good at and what they need to do to get better grades. The school has a diverse student body that reflects the Anchorage area, which makes it a place where everyone can learn. The Anchorage School District's public school funds pay for Government Hill Elementary. The school wants to involve students and their families and teach them useful things.
