I’m presenting my improved traffic light system, designed to make roads safer for pedestrians. Each year, around 60,000 people are injured in roadway crashes, and in 2022 alone, 7,522 people in the U.S. lost their lives. My system adds a seven-segment display, buzzer, and push button to standard traffic lights. It uses a slide switch to start a 10-second green light, followed by 2 seconds of yellow, then 10 seconds of red. The display counts down, and the buzzer alerts pedestrians for safer crossings.
