About Ashley Terry

Ashley Terry is the Assistant Director of College Counseling at The Bay School of San Francisco, a role she has held since August 2019. An alumna of The Bay School herself (Class of 2011), she brings a deep personal connection and understanding to her work in guiding students through the college admissions process. Ashley is passionate about equality, arts, and education, striving to merge these interests to support students holistically.

Before returning to The Bay School, Ashley worked with KIPP Bay Area Schools in Oakland, California, for over four years. She served as a KIPP Through College Persistence Advisor from July 2017 to August 2019 and as a KIPP Through College Alumni Fellow from July 2015 to July 2017. In these roles, she managed a caseload of over 100 students, hosted college readiness workshops, facilitated events, and navigated college campuses across the Bay Area to support student success.

In addition to her counseling work, Ashley has been a writer for La Comadre, an educational blogging platform, since April 2018. Her earlier experience includes fundraising over $100,000 as a Telefundraiser for Columbia University (2012–2015) and working in development for the Harlem Arts Festival (2014–2015). Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies from Barnard College (2015), where she was active in the Barnard Organization of Soul Sisters (B.O.S.S.) and the Women of Color Support Group.
