Phillips Preparatory Middle School is a public magnet school for kids in grades 6 through 8. People say it has high academic standards and helps students do well. At the school, there are about 18:1 students teacher ratio. This lets students work together and help each other with their homework. According to state tests, about half of the students are good at math and 87% are good at reading. A lot of people in Alabama don't do this, so it's a lot better. Phillips Prep helps students who want to do their best by offering advanced classes, leadership programs, and other activities. The school puts a lot of emphasis on getting ready for college, critical thinking, and problem solving starting in middle school. Students are encouraged to compete in academic contests, do service learning, and do other things outside of school that teach them how to be responsible and a leader. When teachers care about their students and have high standards, the students can learn in a focused way. Phillips Preparatory Middle School does a great job of getting kids ready for tough high school classes and helping them do well in school for a long time.
