Brookview Elementary, located in Woodbury, Minnesota, is where innovative education comes to life. The school is the 2nd-ranked elementary school in the Stillwater Area Public School District, and it is among the outstanding elementary schools in the state of Minnesota. Brookview Elementary serves K-5 (ages 5-11) and has 571 enrolled students. They maintain a student-to-teacher ratio of 19:1, so students receive personalized learning opportunities and support. Their academic achievement is impressive, with 66% of students proficient in math and 63% in reading. Jeffrey Stensrud has been appointed as the assistant principal for both Brookview and Lake Elmo Elementary Schools. He offers a wealth of experience to aid both students and staff. At the same time, the Stillwater Area School Board has given the go-ahead for eight new classrooms at Brookview Elementary to handle increasing enrollment. Building is slated to begin this summer, with an anticipated finish date during the 2022–2023 school year.
Q. How does Brookview Elementary support students with special needs?
A.Brookview Elementary aims to have an inclusive learning space for all. We have special education experts, like resource teachers, who team up with teachers to carry out personalized education plans (IEPs). We want all Brookview students to get the help needed to do well in school and get along with others.
Q. What extracurricular activities are available at Brookview Elementary?
A.Brookview Elementary thinks education should go beyond the classroom. We have many after-school activities during the year, like a chess club, robotics team, student council, and sports. These let Brookview students check out their interests, learn, and make friends.
Q. What is the policy for parent communication at Brookview Elementary?
A.Brookview Elementary values parents and teachers working together. We use different ways to keep parents updated, like weekly updates, a school site with a parent page, and parent-teacher meetings. Parents can also email or call teachers if they have questions.
Q. How does Brookview Elementary handle student bullying?
A.Brookview Elementary does not put up with bullying. We try to have a safe school where all students feel good. We teach students to care about others and how to solve disagreements. We tell them to report bullying and have rules for those who bully. Brookview Elementary takes all bullying reports seriously and acts fast.
Q. What are the lunch options for students at Brookview Elementary?
A.Brookview Elementary has a healthy hot lunch program each day, cooked in our kitchen. The school have different choices, like vegetarian meals. Students can also bring lunch from home. At Brookview Elementary, they want all students to have a healthy meal during the day.
