About the Innovator

Hi! My name is Esha. I’m 8 years old and in third grade. I enjoy doing robotics and building with Lego. For my show-and-tell project, I created a Rock, Paper, Scissors game using the micro:bit. The game uses the accelerometer, so when you shake the micro:bit, it shows either rock, paper, or scissors. I used a random command and variables to let the micro:bit choose a move. Then, based on the choice, it displays the matching image. I also used scroll text and added a 1-second pause after each move. It’s a fun, fair, and interactive way to play!

Hello! My name is Esha. I’m 8 years old and study in third grade. I really enjoy robotics and building creative things with Lego. For my show-and-tell project, I decided to create a fun and interactive game on the micro:bit — a digital version of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

In my game, the micro:bit makes its own choice using a random command. I added code that scrolls the words “Rock, Paper, Scissors” at the start, using the display scroll block. Then, I used the accelerometer gesture — when you shake the micro:bit, it picks rock, paper, or scissors randomly.

To make the choice work, I used variables. If the micro:bit chooses rock, it shows a small square image. If it chooses paper, it shows a big square image. And if it chooses scissors, it shows a scissors icon. I also used the sleep 1000 block to pause for 1 second between actions so the game doesn’t move too fast.

I learned how to use sensors, variables, images, and pauses in coding. It was fun to turn a classic game into a digital one. I hope you enjoyed learning about my project!
