About Sharon Lack
Sharon Lack brings together a Brown University B.A., a Wharton MBA, and more than three decades of marketing and strategy experience to help students navigate an increasingly competitive college landscape. Before launching her college advising practice, she spent 14 years as a marketing consultant for corporate and nonprofit clients and 10 years as a marketing and advertising executive in San Francisco and New York, managing national campaigns and communications for leading brands.?
Her interest in college advising grew from guiding her oldest daughter, Monica, diagnosed with dyslexia after third grade, through school and the application process. With targeted support and a strategic approach, Monica was admitted early to her first-choice college, graduated with a double degree in Economics and Visual Arts, and was named an All-American sailor in 2007, experiences that reinforced her commitment to students with and without learning differences.?
Over the past 20+ years, Sharon has worked with more than 4,000 students and families from over 100 Bay Area public and private high schools, from across the United States, and from a dozen countries. She focuses on the “whole student,” using a strategic and creative approach to help applicants present their strengths and distinguishing skills, develop compelling essays, and refine testing and application strategies. Sharon judges success not just by where students are admitted, but by how they grow in self-knowledge, confidence, writing, organization, and decision-making through the process.?
