Noreen Huxley

Noreen Huxley founded Huxley College Counseling LLC in January 2018 to provide personalized college counseling to high school students in the San Jose Bay Area. She specializes in guiding students through career exploration, building comprehensive, balanced college lists and crafting impactful essays that resonate with admission committees. Noreen works with students from January of junior year through May of senior year, establishing a low-stress, positive environment conducive to success throughout the application season.?

She takes pride in her work with first-generation students, collaborating with organizations such as iMentor and ScholarMatch. From August 2017 to September 2019, she served as a student mentor with iMentor, committing 2-3 years to guide students through the college process as their personal advocate. From May 2022 to June 2024, she volunteered with ScholarMatch, providing weekly one-on-one support to low-income and first-generation students applying to UC, CSU and private colleges. She also volunteered at Prospect High School from August 2022 to May 2023 and at Leadership Public High School in Hayward from January to July 2021.?

Noreen has extensive experience supporting students with diverse needs, including ADD, ADHD, General Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. She has a special aptitude for fostering empathy with sensitive and emotionally challenged teens, particularly LGBTQ and neurodivergent students. Her ability to forge deep connections and cultivate trust serves as a foundation for guiding students toward self-discovery. Before transitioning to education, Noreen spent over 15 years as a product designer working with clients including Silicon Graphics, Motorola and Stanford University.
