Dane Copeland

Dane Copeland is the Founder of college.u LLC, an independent educational consulting business based in the San Francisco Bay Area since July 2016. Her student-centered approach supports students entering high school through senior year during their college search, empowering families to maximize opportunities aligned with educational and career goals. She is also the author of "dream. search. apply.", reflecting her expertise in guiding students through the admissions journey.

Dane served as College Advisor at Holy Names High School in Oakland from May 2016 to June 2019, providing direct support to students in a school setting. Her background includes significant leadership in parent organizations, serving as President of the Associated Parent Clubs of Piedmont from 2012 to 2014, where she collaborated with PUSD administration to support K-12 programs and enrichment. Concurrently, she was President of Piedmont High School Parents' Club from 2012 to 2014, managing fundraising and volunteer efforts to sustain educational programs. Earlier leadership roles include Vice President of Piedmont Basketball Foundation from 2010 to 2011, Chair of the 20th Anniversary Home Tour for Children's Support League from 2007 to 2008, and President of Beach Parents Organization from 2003 to 2004.

Dane holds a College Counseling Certification with Distinction from UCLA Extension, completed in 2016. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan, where she received a Hopwood Award in Creative Writing. She is an active member of WACAC, IECA and NACAC.
