The school is part of a $250 million construction project that will make schools better, less crowded, and use designs that last longer. This project will not only make schools better places to learn, but it will also help the economy in the area.

Blackburn Middle School is named after William W. Blackburn, a civil rights leader who worked his whole life to make it easier for African Americans to get an education. The principal and other dedicated staff are working hard to make the school a friendly and positive place where students can do well.
