About the Innovator

Muhammad's project creatively combines a traffic light pole system with a soil moisture sensor, offering a visual way to monitor soil hydration for plants. The system uses a Micro:bit to control the logic and activate different colored LEDs based on the moisture levels in the soil. A red LED signals that watering is urgently needed, a yellow LED shows that the soil is moderately moist and requires minimal watering, and a green LED indicates that the soil has adequate moisture. This project also involves using a soil moisture sensor, wires, a breakout board, and a traffic light pole to provide an intuitive and useful tool for plant care, making it a practical and engaging solution for maintaining healthy plants.

My project focuses on creating a Traffic Light Pole system designed to visually represent the moisture levels in soil. This innovative project integrates a soil moisture sensor with a traffic light pole to provide clear, color-coded readings for plant care.

When there is low soil moisture, the system activates the red LED, signaling immediate watering is required. For medium moisture levels, the yellow LED lights up, indicating minimal water is necessary. Finally, when there is high soil moisture, the green LED turns on, showing no water is needed.

A Micro:bit to control the logic, a breakout board for better connections, a soil moisture sensor (SMS) to measure soil hydration levels, a 70 CM JST wire to connect the SMS, a standard connector for ease of attachment, additional wires for all connections, and the traffic light pole itself for the visual output.

This system is a great tool for monitoring plant health, providing an easy-to-understand signal system for maintaining soil moisture levels!
