About the Innovator

Miradatt’s Colour Mixing project creatively uses an Arduino Uno with LEDs, a potentiometer, resistors, and a battery to blend colors for young learners, offering a hands-on way to explore light and electronics. By adjusting the potentiometer, different LED intensities combine to create various hues, demonstrating basic coding and circuit concepts in a vibrant, interactive display.

Watching a sunset with all its pretty colors inspired me to create my Colour Mixing project with an Arduino Uno. I wanted to use LEDs and a potentiometer to mix lights and make new colors, like a little art show I can control. It’s been exciting to learn how to change brightness and make my own rainbows!

I set up my Arduino Uno with a few LEDs—probably red, green, and blue—some resistors to keep them safe, and a potentiometer to adjust how bright each one gets, all powered by a battery. When I turn the potentiometer, my code changes the LEDs’ strength, so I can mix them—like red and blue making purple, or red and green making yellow. I had to figure out how to connect everything and write code to make the colors blend smoothly, and it’s so cool to see them light up differently every time I twist the knob!

I’m thinking about how to make this even more fun next time! Maybe I can add a button to save my favorite color mix, or use more LEDs for extra shades. I could also try making the lights fade in and out on their own. I’m happy I’m learning how to use lights and coding with my Arduino Uno, and I can’t wait to show my friends how I mix colors like a painter with tech!
