Seeing how everyone at home shares the same soap pump made me think about germs, so I decided to create my Automatic Soap Dispenser project with an Arduino Uno. I wanted it to give soap without touching anything, just by putting my hand close, and maybe make a sound to let me know it worked. It’s been fun learning how to use sensors and motors for this!

I set up an ultrasonic sensor with my Arduino Uno to check if a hand is near—like a few centimeters away. When the sensor sees something close, my code tells the servo motor to move and push out some soap, imagining it’s connected to a little pump. At the same time, I made the buzzer beep for a second to tell me the soap is coming. It’s all automatic, so nobody has to touch anything messy, and I had to figure out the right distance in my code so it only works when I really want soap.

I’m already thinking about ways to make it cooler! Maybe I can add an LED that lights up when the soap comes out, or change the buzzer sound to something funny. I might also try making the servo move a bit slower so it doesn’t push too much soap at once. I’m happy I’m learning how sensors can help with cleaning, and I can’t wait to show my family how my Arduino Uno makes washing hands easier!
