What Does Smite Do In Minecraft

Players must constantly fight and take on the vicious, deadly, undead mobs that inhabit Minecraft’s endless world. These mobs are far easier to kill, thanks to Minecraft enchantments. In Minecraft, there are roughly 20 different enchantments. Some have straightforward names like “Fire Protection,” but others have more complicated expressions, such as ‘Smite’!!

    What exactly is ‘Smite’??

Before knowing what it does and how it functions, you should know what Smite is. Simply put, Smite is one of the most widely used enchantments among players in Minecraft. Your weapons will have more power against undead beings like zombies if you enchant them with the “Smite” enchantment. Only swords and axes can defeat these monsters with magic.

Whom to use ‘Smite Enchantment’ against?

Smite packs you more punch while you’re battling undead enemies. The enchantment can be applied to both swords and axes and you can use it to eliminate creatures listed below as Minecraft regards them as “undead” and vulnerable to Smite:

    • Chicken Jockeys
    • Drowned zombies
    • Husk zombies
    • Phantoms
    • Skeletons
    • Skeleton Horses
    • Skeleton Horsemen
    • Spider Jockeys
    • Stray skeletons
    • Withers
    • Wither Skeletons
    • Zeglins
    • Zombies
    • Zombie Horses
    • Zombie Villagers
    • Zombified Piglins

How Much Damage Can The Smite Enchantment Do?

As the level of the Smite enchantment rises, so does the damage inflicted on the undead mob. However, it varies considerably depending on the type of sword, axe, and even the Minecraft edition you are currently playing. Let’s look at the damage tables (provided by Minecraft Wiki) to comprehend the various Smite enchantment levels.

When You’re Playing — Java Edition

Do note that the amount in parentheses represents the weapon’s critical damage. It is the damage that the weapon does when it is being used while leaping in the direction of the attacking undead mob. The other figure, meanwhile, is the amount of damage the weapon will do when it’s fully charged.

    How is Smite Enchantment obtained?

As mentioned earlier, Smite Enchantment only works on swords and axes and to obtain Smite or any other enchantments you should have these two things in Minecraft.

    • Enchanted Books: Used for obtaining Smite Enchantment to be used on axes while playing the Java edition.
    • Enchanting Table: Used for getting Smite Enchantment to be used on axes and swords while playing the Java edition.

Step 1. Create an Enchanting Table

Select a leveled and good spot to create your Enchanting Table.

    Create an Enchanting Table

Step 2. Improve your Enchanting Table

The Enchanting table can be improved by surrounding it with bookcases to level up the Smite enchantment, which can be accessed by right-clicking or using the secondary action key.

    Improve your Enchanting Table

    Step 3. Selecting Enchantments

Place a sword and lapis lazuli in the cell next to the left side of the magical table, and post that three enchantments will be displayed on the right side.

    Selecting Enchantments

    Step 4. Applying Enchantments

The Smite enchantment can be found by hovering over the options in the Enchanting table. Click to apply it to your sword or axe ((or axe in the Bedrock edition), then replace the weapon or table if it doesn’t appear.

    Applying Enchantments

    Wield Your Weapon Of Destruction

It’s time to deploy your recently enchanted Smite weapon on the undead mob. It would help if you started by looking for these specific creatures because they are the only ones affected by the enchantment. When you find the undead mob, advance and fight them using your Smite-enchanted sword or ax.

    Wield Your Weapon Of Destruction

Compared to using a non-enchanted tool, you’ll notice a massive difference in how the mob is destroyed. The Smite enchantment increases the destructive power of your weapon, specifically against undead enemies, making it the best weapon for fighting them.

There you go! Now you too can create a powerful weapon in Minecraft to kill the undead mob by following the blog to implement the mentioned steps and methods we have recommended. Happy hunting!!
