Minecraft How to Tame Polar Bears

These fluffy creatures can be your loyal companions in the chilly biomes of the game, and We’re here to guide you through the process step by step. Pick up your sword, and let’s embark on this adventure!

Step 1: Gear Up

Before embarking on your polar bear-taming adventure, make sure you’re prepared. You’ll need some items to keep you safe from the cold and any unexpected surprises. Grab yourself some iron armor, a sword, and some delicious fish for the bears. You’re all set and ready to go!

Step 2: Locate Polar Bears

Polar bears are typically found in icy biomes, such as snowy tundras and ice spikes. They’re easy to spot with their distinctive white fur, so keep an eye out as you explore the frozen landscapes. Be cautious, though, as polar bears are peaceful unless you provoke them or get too close to their cubs.

Step 3: Approach with Caution

Approaching a polar bear with care is essential. If you have any armor, wear it to protect yourself from potential attacks. Slowly approach the bear, but don’t get too close too quickly, or you might startle it. Keep in mind that polar bears will only attack if they feel threatened, so stay calm and gentle.

Step 4: Feeding Time – What do they eat?

To tame a polar bear, you’ll need fish. Lots and lots of fish. We can find fish either by fishing or from loot drops. Polar bears love salmon, which can be found anywhere, so you’re in luck. 

Hold the fish in your hand and approach the bear slowly. Right-click (or left-trigger on your controller) to feed the bear. It may take a few fish to gain its trust fully, so be patient. You’ll know the bear is tamed when it starts showing you hearts!
