Today, Moonpreneur is super excited to share a step-by-step guide on how to make one of the most useful and interesting non-player characters (NPCs) in the game: a librarian! Librarians are essential for obtaining rare enchantments, trading books, and acquiring valuable knowledge. So, let’s dive into the world of Minecraft and learn how to create our very own librarian!
Step 1: Finding a Village
First things first, you need to locate a village. Villages are scattered throughout Minecraft and are easy to spot due to their unique architecture. Keep an eye out for small houses, farms, and a central bell tower. Exploring different biomes can increase your chances of finding a village.
Step 2: Identifying the Librarian
Once you’ve found a village, it’s time to identify the librarian. Librarians are NPCs dressed in white robes and can usually be found in a building that resembles a library. Look for bookshelves and a crafting table inside the building to confirm it’s the right place.
Step 3: Creating a Lectern
To make a librarian, you need a lectern. This special block allows the librarian to hold and trade books with you. Crafting a lectern is simple! Just gather four wooden slabs and two books. Place the wooden slabs in a two-by-two square on the crafting table, leaving the center empty. Finally, place the two books on top of the wooden slabs, and voilà! You’ve crafted a lectern.
Step 4: Placing the Lectern
Now that you have a lectern, it’s time to place it inside the library building. Find a suitable spot and interact with the ground to put the lectern in place. The lectern should snap into position, and you’ll see an open book on top of it.
Step 5: Job Site Block
You must create a job site block to turn your villager into a librarian. This block defines the villager’s profession and determines the type of trades they offer. In the case of a librarian, you need a bookshelf. Bookshelves are crafted using six wooden planks and three books.
Arrange the planks in a horizontal row on the bottom row of the crafting table, and place the books on top of the planks. Once crafted, you can place the bookshelf near the librarian to complete their workstation.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully created your very own librarian in Minecraft. Now you can enjoy trading with them, obtaining valuable enchanted books, and expanding your knowledge of the game.
